Pinch of Spice

The Pinch of Spice hat is my collaboration with Katlin of Porter Wool Co. I wanted to design a hat that was 95% “mindless knitting” with a 5% “pinch of spice.” These 1x1 cables were just the thing!

I knit my sample hats with DK merino and suri silk lace held together. I love the drape and feel of this fabric - there will definitely be more DK & suri projects in my future! Pinch of Spice could also be knit with worsted weight yarn at the same gauge.

Alternatively, Pinch of Spice could be knit with a single strand of worsted weight yarn OR fingering weight held double (this is usually comparable to DK weight) and held together with a strand of mohair or suri silk.
