Something Happy Cowl
Something Happy is the snuggly cowl of my dreams and hopefully yours too! Worked from the bottom up, it is knit flat and then seamed. Cast on with a few stitches and work the brioche lace pattern while at the same time increasing on every RS MC row until the full stitch count is reached. Once the full width is reached, continue to work even before binding off and seaming.
Yarn Selection
The fiber content of your yarn will affect the amount of drape in your cowl. Because my sample was knit with yarn made from yak, cashmere, silk, merino and mohair, it has a great deal of drape.
But you don’t need to choose a luxury base to achieve this effect! Look for yarns that have a percentage of silk or alpaca. I recommend swatching with your chosen yarns, and wet blocking the swatch to see if you like the fabric it creates.
