This eye-catching design combines the classic appeal of a chevron stitch with a unique contrasting color bind off, creating a stunning and fashion-forward layering piece.
With this clear and easy-to-follow pattern, knitters of all skill levels can create this on-trend vest. The bold chevron stitch adds visual interest and dimension to the garment, while the contrasting color bind off provides the perfect finishing touch, making the vest truly stand out.
Trouvaille is perfect for layering over a long-sleeve tee or a blouse, adding a pop of color to any outfit. Whether you're knitting this for yourself or as a thoughtful gift, the Trouvaille Vest is sure to become a staple in any wardrobe. My vest shown here is knit with Criollo DK yarn Prado de Lana. Shepherd Amanda shares “The Criollo Sheep have been grazing the countryside of México for hundreds of years. Lovingly tended to by their shepherds and guardian dogs, their wool and their meat have provided to the people in their region. Hand wound and hand skeined by Amanda and Alberto for you!”
Constuction
Trouvaille is a vest worked from the top down. The back of the vest is cast on at the shoulders and worked flat with shaping for the arm openings. Left and right front shoulders are picked up from the cast on edge and worked flat with shaping for the neckline and then for the arm openings. Vest front and back are worked flat to complete the arm opening depth and then the body is joined to work in the round. The vest body features a chevron motif worked in a contrasting color. Hem, arm openings and collar are finished with 1x1 rib and an optional contrasting color tubular bind off.
